Silvano Monchi is a photographer since 1973, and in the 1981's he built with other friends the "Circolo Fotografico Arno". He is the President of thr camera club.

In 1987's F.I.A.F awards him B.F.I (well-deserving of Italian Photography) honour

In 2001's F.I.A.P awards him E.S.F.I.A.P title.

From 1992, he cooperates with the Italian magazine of Photography "Il Fotoamatore", which now changed its name to "Fotoit".

From 2002, he is a member of the board of Directors of "F.I.A.F, and he is a Director of Youth District.

He is also the General Chairman of the "Gran Tour delle Colline" and the "Premio Italiano di Fotografia Naturalistica" and the "Premio Italiano Obiettivo Agricoltura".

He likes and specialized in photography of landscape and journalism.
