Yorghos Kontaxis was born on Syros in 1946. When he was 23 years old life brought him to America where he worked as a photographer for 36 years. He permanently moved back to Greece in 2004 and today lives and works in Athens.
Education: BFA degree in photography from The School of Visual Arts recognized by the higher School of Fine Arts in Athens.
Exhibition Photography:
20 solo exhibitions of his photographs in galleries of New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Hermoupolis, Syros.His photographs were included in 14 group exhibitions in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Many of his photographs are in the hands of collectors of U.S.A.
